Poised in the midst of four great empires, Task Force 21 patrols the borders of the C'Hakillian, Romulan, Krazzle, and Klingon Empires, around the area of space known as the Raeyan Sector. It's primary mission is to defend Federation interests at all costs, be it through diplomacy or through more aggressive means. Like all Starfleet units, it is also tasked with furthering knowledge and exploration in the region, whenever possible. After the Shinzon of Remus incident, relations with the Romulan Empire are going quite well, as well as with the Krazzle Republic, but things with the C'Hakillians could be much better.

As the ravenous Beta Virus sweeps across the C'Hakillian Empire, the Federation must once again brace itself. If civil war breaks out in that empire, Federation treaties will no longer be respected, and the fragile colonies in the Utalia and Diogara sectors could once again be in danger of raids by rebels or even imperial forces and there are rumors of a listless terror leaming to the north, forcing Task Force 21 to muster its forces.

Based out of Deep Space 20, north of Raeya, Rear Admiral Hadrian Felochelli must rally the task force to continue its delicate balance of exploration and patrol to maintain peace in the region, but also be prepared for any conflict that may arise. Task Force Gemini is the new Starfleet. No longer the organization clinging to scrabble in the days of Jonathan Archer or one unprepared for war in the days of Picard, but a new, better fleet, one that is able to flourish a pen with one hand and swing the sword with the other, thus our symbol: the Roman numeral for two.
